The ultimate goal is to become the titular Master of Magic, which involves conflict, negotiation, careful use of resources, and the support of a well-developed empire. Each of them originates in the realms of Arcanus or Myrror and it takes time to learn how to travel between them. The game starts with players choosing from a range of wizards, 14 at launch, all capable of massive magical feats, prepared with a starting set of spells, and leading a particular fantasy race. Master of Magic is a really, really rad 4Xat least if you, like me, are part of its cult following. This is a modern remake of the classic of the ‘90s, which works well for fans of the fantasy strategy space. I played a pre-launch version of it on the PC using Steam. Master of Magic is developed by MuHa Games and Eerie Forest Studio, with publishing in the hands of Slitherine Ltd. Maybe the help of a few capable heroes? Some alliances with other wizards? A focus on gaining control over as much of the world as possible? Or simply an ability to win tactical battles when the odds are not in your favor?
